Graphite-Metal Alloy Bushings Solve Dry Running Issue with Raffinate Pumps
Raffinate is a gasoline additive to help meet scricter emissions standards. A pump company with a raffinate pump experienced a bushing failure- their PEEK bushing came apart and coated the shaft. They theorized that the failure was due to flashing/dry running. They found a solution that could handle a flashing/ dry running raffinate application- graphite-metal alloy bushings. Read more here.

Graphite-Metal Alloy Bushings Successful in Screw Compressor
In this particular application, Graphite-Metal Alloy Bushings are used in a screw compressor in hydrogen gas service. It is a high speed, low load application for the bushings. They had originally tried aluminum bushings, which failed, then plain bronze bushings, which also failed. They then tried Graphite-Metal Alloy Bushings, which have been successful in this application. Read more here
